Just when you think 2015 can’t get better for Carissa Moore, she goes ahead and takes the win at the Target Maui Pro, her second consecutive win at the event. She won the 2015 world title yesterday. So now, count ‘em folks, that’s three world titles.

Conditions at Honolua Bay were perfect with 4-6 foot waves – making competition even tougher with more opportunities for all surfers to really showcase their talents.

Moore posted 19.5 out of 20 in the final round, earning a 10 out of 10 for the win. It came under a fall but before a long barrel ride, the biggest of the event. Sally Fitzgibbons wasn’t able to do better.

Earlier on, Coco Ho had earlier taken out the world title runner-up Courtney Conlogue, and had possibly her best finish of the season.

Moore knew she had a tough competitor in Conlogue, who has obviously improved by leaps and bounds this season. “She’s worked so hard and I never counted her out for a moment… I’ve enjoyed the whole ride and to see it pay off, it was just nice to finish off the season strong…”

Conlogue knows there are improvements to be made, despite having her best season so far. “This is my best season so far and I’m going to look back at it and know I could’ve done better – you always can”.

And that’s why anyone who’s been keep up with the Tour knows it’s only a matter of time before Conlogue gets the title.

It’s been a real joy watching so many strong female surfers battle it out this year, and now, we have the men’s comp to look forward to. With six world title contenders, we can be assured of some truly high quality surfing.
